We’ve come to see in the past year how certain systemic & structural issues left undealt with could potentially worsen as a result of the pandemic. Mandatory quarantining in itself, as a result of the pandemic & the impact that this had in our local supermarkets, gives insight on how beneficial starting a prepping pantry would be in advance. It’s there for when times get tough, serving as an emergency food storage to rely on until things get back to normal.
Now more than ever is it necessary to provide services that connect individuals & families to vital resources, in avoiding greater crisis.
According to faith, this is in precept with 1 Corinthians 9:10-11
“This is written: that he that ploweth should plow in hope; and that he that threshers in hope should be partaker of his hope. If we have sown unto you spiritual things, is it a great thing if we shall reap your carnal things?” -1 Corinthians 9:10:11
in the idea that “he that ploweth should plow in hope”; but also the idea that if we provide for the spiritual necessity, that its also appropriate that things be provided which pertain to the carnal necessity as well.
Prepper Pantry Tips
Panic buying & Shelf-Cleaning is NOT the objective.
It’s not necessary that we clean out the shelf of every grocery store in the name of “emergency storage,” this beats the purpose. It’s more essential that we take only what’s needed, & that the things we hope to keep in pantry, simply take one or two extra whenever shopping. The goal is to allow pantry storage to build up over time as opposed to panic buying.
