My Ideal Meals & Dishes

Holistic Health I feel is something I’ve always wanted to venture deeper into. & I understand that one of the best things that I could do today in aligning myself with that journey is to focus more attention toward my diet & encouraging better eating habits for myself. & so, even though my current diet is nowhere near ideal for long-term routine of eating habits, this is a chance for me to get rooted into the mindset of “exploring healthier alternatives” than what I’ve been accustomed to eating and drinking.

Diets & Discipline

Usually when it comes to my diet in general, I try not to focus attention on a “restrictive mindset”. In other words, I’d rather encourage myself with what I’d like to eat MORE of than to go by restriction of what I can’t eat. Unless it be the case that I have a goal of intention, otherwise, I have no reason to focus restriction on what my diet consists of.

This is in precept with Romans 14:1-3, in that it’s written:

Him that is weak in the faith receive ye, but not to doubtful disputations. For one believeth that he may eat all things: another, who is weak, earth herbs. Let not him that eateth despise him that eateth not; and let not him which eateth not judge him that eateth: for God hath received him.

My principle of discipline however is in precept with Philippians 4:11-13:

Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content. I know both how to be abased, and I know how to abound: every where and in all things I am instructed both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need.

This is in the mindset that we learn to “abase” that we may “abound” toward that thing we hope to achieve. which in this case, becomes the process of working Pantry Items: (Rotating & Replacing items in your pantry)

Main Components (move toward members**

The key to figuring out what to keep in our pantry is simple; store what you eat, & eat what you store. This alone gives us a glimpse of what an ideal pantry would look like to each of us. In which case the next goal would be to perfect our supply management system.

An easy way to do this is by separating the pantry list into 3 main components:

  • Short-term Supply (6mo-1yr)

  • Mid-term Supply (2yr+)

  • Long-term Supply (5yr+)

& with these, we consider the objective(s) of this pantry. What’s the intent of our pantry? Are we looking to preserve more of our supply? Then we should utilize more of the long-term component. Are we looking to budget our grocery spending? Then we should focus more on the short-term component. Considering the purpose in pantry will help us to adjust & manage our supply accordingly.

Storing Methods

Once we’ve perfected our 3 main components, our final step in building an ideal pantry would be to figure out the storage process of our supply. We do this by separating our 3 comp-system into 3 separate pantry storage places:

  • Home (daily) Pantry

  • Prepper Pantry

  • Long-term Pantry
