With Mastery comes Responsibility
“And if a man also strive for masteries, yet is he not crowned, except he strive lawfully.”
-2 Timothy 2:5
Keeping in mind with believing mastery, it’s necessary to stress the importance of maintaining certain levels of self-temperance, both for the sake of self as well as the collective effort. We find that with mastery comes responsibility, & the greater the mastery, the greater the responsibility called for. In this is it written:
”My brethren, be not many masters, knowing that we shall receive the greater condemnation.” -James 3:1
This is in precept with Sha’ul in that he writes;
”All things are lawful unto me, but all things are not expedient. All things are lawful for me, but I will not be brought under the power of any. Meats for the belly, & the belly for meats: but TMH shall destroy both it and them. Now the body is not fornication, but for the Lord; and the Lord for the body. & TMH hath both raise up the Lord, & will also raise up us by his own power.” -1 Corinthians 6: 12-14
So what does “Responsible Mastery” even look like?
Understanding the meaning behind a believing mastery calls for a remission mindset. That we look at the partnership of master & servant in the same way that we do husband & wife. & this not in a way to be biased nor condescending toward one or the other. But in the idea that wives submit unto their own husbands, as unto the Lord. Reason being the husband is the head of the wife, even as light is the head of the temple. & savior of the body. -Ephesians 5:22-23
But for this reason is it also that men ought to love their wives even as their own bodies. In that he that loveth his wife loveth himself. -Ephesians 5:28
Anything contrary to this is a reprobate mindset, but we’ll come back to that.
