“Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded.”
-James 4:8
“Drawing near” is just as much about what we do than it’s basis on the things we believe. It’s the renewed mindset moving us to act according to higher understanding of scripture. For example, the most common way in which we draw near according to scripture is through “fasting & prayer.” A humility process in which we deny the cravings of the heart, but instead crave after the spirit. This is a process which will lead us toward making request in spirit according to our own humility. To learn more about our perspective on fasting explore the links below.
There’s a great importance of grounding ourselves in a sincerity of spirit, especially when it comes to subjective fasting. Subjecting ourselves under any authority irresponsibly is not likely to be inconsequential. Likewise do we find with entrusting the hand of the Divine. This is what it looks like to “abase & abound” ourselves in spirit, & that when we do this what we find in the process is the self-enlightenment to assist us toward a path of least resistance in overcoming certain issues or obstacles. Understanding already what this looks like for you personally is a head start in way of early progression.
