Decluttering
As we continue our Journey into Self-Love, many of us will find and have found that our life is not meant to revolve around the abundance of our material possessions. And if this is ever the case that our material possessions should find way to possess us in our time, it often seems to be harder more-so than a pleasurable abundance, (depending on the situation obviously). Yet for anyone with a goal such as self-loving and living their fulfilled life purpose, whatever that is to them, these type of material possessions are going to be the things they’ll most likely want to detach from. The reason simply being that it takes up too much of their time and energy to possess. This is why the minimalist considers carefully every possesssion. Requiring each to serve purpose and value in revolving around the life goals and purpose of that minimalist.
The Decluttering Process
Usually in the decluttering process, when we are looking to find those things we no longer need, it often seems as if we barely rid ourselves of what we ought to TRULY let go of. This is most likely the result of us asking the wrong questions. Questions such as:
Is this still valuable?
Wont I still need this?
Where could I still wear this?
these are questions that could cause us to still hold on to more than we actually ought to keep. This is a project that calls for us to question each item much like we would an interview. These are the questions we ought to be asking in the decluttering process:
For “Usefull” Items
Will I find this item consistently beneficial on the daily basis?
Do I own anything more convinient to get the job done?
For “Sentimntal” Items
Does this item represent life changing experience?
Does this item give me feelings of adventure or accomplishment to behold?
For “Project” Items
Is this project a requirement of my long-term goals?
Does this project bring me pure enjoyment?
For clothes and Accessories
Does this make me feel like my best me when I wear it?
would I repurchase this?
